Prof Dr. Irina Kummert:

Since 1997, Irina Kummert has worked in executive search at top management level – for mid-sized industrial firms, public institutions, banks, insurance companies, family offices, and foundations. She supports organizations in leadership and transformation processes, with a focus on values-based management and sustainable change. As an expert in People & Culture Management, she advises decision-makers at executive level in communication- and strategy-critical situations.

 

Through her model of Dual Research & Development, she builds bridges between science and business – contributing to the innovation capacity of organizations. Her work centers on the practical implementation of academic knowledge and the empowerment of key individuals who enable long-term transformation.

 

Since 2023, she has been a professor at HFH · Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. In 2024, she was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law and became a member of the University Council. She designed and leads the People & Culture Management degree program, which launches as a distance-learning course in Oc2025.

 

In 2020, she completed the Qualified Supervisory Board program at Deutsche Börse AG.

In 2013, she earned her PhD (magna cum laude) at Goethe University Frankfurt on the topic of morality in capital markets.

 

Voluntary leadership roles: President of the Ethics Association of the German Economy (since 2013), Chair of the Ethics Committee of the German Football Association (DFB) since 2021, and member of several ethics and governance panels, including the Compliance Channel. She is the founder of the Rotary Club Berlin-Olympia.

 

She has taught at Humboldt University of Berlin and Steinbeis University, and is a frequent contributor to national media, conferences, and expert panels on business ethics.

Co-editor of “Difficulties with Morality – A Plea for a New Business Ethics” (Springer VS, 2015).
